While I use it for reading, its most important function for me is testing my books for ebook suitability. Sometimes it can pass an online tester and still not look right on the Kindle. It the book passes the Kindle test, it's ready to publish. I thought I would just be reading, but the little device has proved most useful in publishing, too.Pearson Moorehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08520908754479182817noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4773784813020798883.post-52192588374934925812011-04-15T22:52:44.001-07:002011-04-15T22:52:44.001-07:00Despite being impressed with Arlene's kindle w...Despite being impressed with Arlene's kindle when she showed it me - yes we met!!!! even though we're an ocean away - I STILL haven't got round to buying one. But I have no doubt they are the future - well the now - come to that. <br />And yes, isn't that cover fabulous! It was worth the time, effort and money, Pearson. I know we shouldn't be too influenced by a cover but we are. I have some great ones but some that I loathe.Barbara Elsborghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15825994197656747262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4773784813020798883.post-69900852863937381792011-04-15T14:50:03.768-07:002011-04-15T14:50:03.768-07:00Arlene, welcome to the world of Kindle! The books I've gotten before I've brought from the publisher's sites and emailed to myself on the kindle as a pdf file, but this was soooo easy.Arlenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13009609859622288428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4773784813020798883.post-73070216229546164062011-04-15T11:43:48.541-07:002011-04-15T11:43:48.541-07:00Fred, Thanks so much for your kind comments on the...Fred, Thanks so much for your kind comments on the cover. Doing the cover right required nearly as much time and effort as writing the novel! I spent several months researching the clothing of the era and then several weeks figuring out the body posture and facial attitude I wished to convey. The cover needed to say "Strength, Courage, and Freedom," because that's the essence of my protagonist. I was fortunate to enlist in this effort possibly the best cover artist out there, Peter Ortiz. Pete captured Myeerah perfectly, with exactly the right facial expression and posture. I cannot claim credit here, I can only marvel at what Pete created. Truly amazing.Pearson Moorehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08520908754479182817noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4773784813020798883.post-91096387692732140592011-04-15T11:39:03.619-07:002011-04-15T11:39:03.619-07:00Thanks, Arlene and Barbara.
