A new book

Only as I start writing a new book, do I remember how much I hate starting a new book. I lose faith in my ability, in coffee, in everything. Each word is a huge effort. Not helped by the fact that this book is a bit different. I'm sure the premise in the hands of Stephen King - would be a winner - but it's in my hands and it's struggling for life. The irony is for once I have a title right at the outset - A New Life.

Hmm, a premise that King would use. Interesting. I wonder what twisted, evil springs forth. As for me, I can only dream of starting something new years from now. Good luck.

Well it's set in Walmart, Fred. King territory obviously!!! Actually this story would be mainstream if I could get my mindset out of the erotica gutter. If it proves too challenging, I'll have to put it aside and write something else. It's the number of characters I need to show quite quickly that's the bugbear and unlike King, I can't run to 1000 pages!

Walmart? That's gotta be some kind of chemical warfare experiment gone awry then. Hmm. Though, I have to confess, when I need something cheap, that's where I go. I just make sure to shower when I get home.

How could you lose faith in COFFEE?! :-O

Shows the depths of my despair, Heather. But a new day and I've written one word and I'm up to make a cup of coffee!

You know I'm really looking forward to this next one, Barbara (if it's the one you've been hinting at for quite awhile now). You are one of the most talented, versatile writers I know and A New Life will no doubt be another spectacular read. Now make that next pot of coffee good and strong and have at it. :)

Hi Barbara...I really need to play catch up. To my dismay and happiness, I only recently discovered you and your fantastic books. I'm reading An Ordinary Girl now...love it, and just wrapped up Chosen...excellent. I wrote you a glowing review on Goodreads. I can't even imagine what that wonderful mind of yours will treat us to next. So, while your busy writing, I'll be busy reading...hmmm...maybe The Misfits. Thanks again!
